Decades of Experience

We’ve plenty of experience of hosting weddings. After all, Leez Priory is Essex’s longest-running wedding venue, and we’ve had a license for over 30 years.

Exclusively Yours

Leez Priory will be yours and yours alone. Our all-inclusive packages include exclusive use of the house, gardens and 40-acre parklands for your wedding.

The lake makes for a graceful backdrop for your wedding photos, and you can even have a lakeside ceremony. The fountain adds an especially romantic touch.

40 Acre Estate

Leez Priory is set in over 40 acres of formal gardens and ancient parkland. From the croquet lawn to the tree-fringed lake, the estate is exclusively yours.

Surrounded by History

The 16th-century estate is on the site of a medieval priory (you can still see the ruins). Elizabeth I liked it so much she visited three times!

Your Ceremony

Leez Priory has no fewer than eight locations for wedding ceremonies, from the traditional Great Hall to refined al fresco settings in the courtyard and gardens.

The Great Tower

If you love the idea of a romantic garden wedding, there are five licensed outdoor spaces at Leez Priory, from the lakeside to the carriageway under the Great Tower.

The Great Hall

The grandeur of the traditional Tudor Great Hall which can seat up to 110 guests.

Coach House Barn

The country charm of the Coach House Barn with exposed oak beams and stone floors.

Little or Large...

We host weddings of all sizes from intimate 30-person celebrations to parties with over 100 guests. There’s the perfect space to suit your guest list and requirements.

Whatever the weather, our selection of spaces ensures the ceremony and celebrations always go ahead. Leez Priory really is a venue for all seasons.

The Reception

After the ceremony, it’s time for the celebrations. Treat your guests to Canapés & Welcome Drinks in the Carriageway & Courtyard.

The Coach House Barn

For larger celebrations, the Coach House Barn holds up to 110 guests beneath its high beams. The airy space is easily adaptable for all types of décor.

The Great Hall

For more intimate affairs, wine & dine your guests in the Great Hall complete with exposed beams and period fireplace.

Evening Reception

Enjoy the fully stocked bar with its wide selection of drinks, including local draft beers and ciders.

First Dance

Where will you have your first dance? The historic carriageway is a wonderfully romantic spot for those magical steps.

Dedicated Disco

Party into the night in our indoor disco room, where the dance floor and bar are next to each other for easy celebrations.

Grand Finale

End the day with a grand finale. The inner courtyard at Leez Priory is simply perfect for a firework display.

A home-cooked full English breakfast is just the thing for the morning after! Breakfast is served in the rustic Coach House Barn.
